MINISTRY MOTIVES

The class is designed to challenge the student to understand what is required of an effective minister. Emphasis is placed on examining motives for being in ministry while encouraging students to focus on the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry, and the edifying of the body of Christ.






OLD TESTAMENT SURVEY

This course is designed to provide the student with a foundation level survey of the Old Testament. It will examine each book of the Old Testament, outline the major themes, and discuss their spiritual significance, past and present. Special attention is given to important persons, places, and events.
GOSPEL PREACHING

This is an introduction to the art and craft of preaching. The course consists of lecture, listening/viewing sermons, and a large amount of class discussion of course readings and sermons, as well as students developing and delivering sermons in front of the class. The majority of the course covers the history and nature of preaching, sermon development and structure, sermon preparation and delivery. It also seeks to promote the growth and development of the preacher as God's messenger, and preaching within a particular community.
CHURCH HISTORY

This course examines the history of the church and Religions movements from before Christ to modern times. The students learn how God moved through the saints in the Ancient Church, the Middle Ages and the Modern Church. The emphasis is on the movements and their relationship to the revivals in that day.
HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

This course introduces the student to the basic principles of hermeneutics, exegesis, and homiletics. The inductive Bible study method is specifically covered in this course. The course covers the importance of regular Bible study and identifies the different methods of Bible study and types of study Bibles. The student will examine and use different sources and tools for studying the Bible and will be shown how and when to use them. The student will write and present a 3-5 minute sermon.

FIVE GOVERNMENTAL MINISTRIES

This seminar familiarizes the students with the various tests they face as ministers. This study prepares students for the tests each minister must face and equips them to be victorious. Students are required to examine and document the call on their lives verifying that the Call is from God. This course will also teach the roles and church assignments of the Five-Fold Ministry as described in Ephesians 4:11.
BASIC SPIRITUAL WARFARE

This course will provide you with the necessary equipment to put under arrest and render helpless the forces of darkness. You will also learn how to put on the whole Armor of God, plead the Blood of Jesus, and enter into warfare intercession.
SPIRITUAL DISCIPLINE

This seminar is an overview of the spiritual disciplines (inward disciplines) meditation, fasting, prayer, study, (outward discipline) simplicity, solitude, submission, service, and (corporate discipline) worship. Emphasis is placed on recognizing hindrances to the inner life and practicing the disciplines as part of the daily routine.
DEMONOLOGY & DELIVERANCE

Students will learn the distinguishing marks of demonization and spiritual oppression and how to minister deliverance. Students will also learn how to identify demonic doorways and how to identify and break generational curses.
RADICAL EVANGELISM

Examination and practical exercise of methods of evangelizing urban, suburban, and international locales. This course includes intercessory prayer and soul winning techniques

IN HIS PRESENCE
A Biblical Study of Praise and Worship

In this class, you will learn the practical aspects of entering into the Presence of God through praise and worship. You will discover the difference between praise and worship and how to maintain intimacy with God through worship.
DESKTOP PUBLISHING IN THE MINISTRY

Students will learn how to create flyers for events, business cards, small brochures, so that you can effectively start your ministry. You will also learn how to design and use the web site to retrieve clip-arts and pictures to add to your creation. This class will teach you some graphics design as well as designing a PowerPoint presentation. The prerequisite for this class is that you have knowledge of MS Office.
